Moka Score FAQ

What people ask before they upload a chat: what Moka is, how private it is, which apps work and what it costs. mokascore.com is the only official website.

About Moka

What is Moka Score?

An AI that reads a conversation between two people and tells you where the relationship is going. You upload a chat from WhatsApp, iMessage, Instagram, Messenger or LINE, and Moka gives it one score out of 100, the part each of you plays and six behaviours each, then a full report if you want it.

What does the score mean?

It is how the relationship reads in the chat: how much connection, effort and repair go each way, against how much conflict and distance. Higher means healthier. It is a reading of the messages, not a verdict on the people.

Which relationships does it work on?

Any relationship between you and one other person: a couple, a situationship, an ex, two friends, a mum and her daughter, two siblings. Group chats are not read: export the chat you have with just one person.

Why is everyone sharing their Moka Score?

Because the score comes as a card made to be shown: one number, the part each of you plays, revealed on screen. When one person reveals theirs at a party or a dinner, everyone else wants to know their own relationship score.

How accurate is it?

Moka reads the whole conversation (for a very long chat, its most recent part) and picks up thousands of signals in how you write to each other. It is still an outside reading of a chat, not a therapist: a good start for a conversation, never a replacement for one.

What is the difference with What Brandon Thinks?

Moka goes straight for the deep stuff and starts with a visual score card; Brandon takes his time, comes at it from around the edges and writes a report. Both are made by GumGum in Paris, and we recommend trying both: they are two truly different experiences. Moka and Brandon compared.

Who is behind Moka Score?

GumGum, a product lab in Paris run by two brothers, also behind What Brandon Thinks. The rest of the story is on our About page.

Privacy and safety

Is my chat private?

Yes. Nothing is ever sent to the other person, and nobody in the chat is told. A chat file stays on your phone until you sign in with your email. With a screen recording, the video stays on your phone: Moka reads pictures of the messages, and keeps none.

How long do you keep my chat?

Your chat is deleted 14 days after your last message to Moka, and every message starts the 14 days again. Your score and your messages with Moka stay until you delete them, or your account.

How do I delete my data?

From your account, at any time: one chat, one score with its messages, or the whole account. Deleting is final, and anything you delete leaves our backups within 7 days. Nobody can bring it back, not even us.

Is my chat used to train AI?

No. The AI models that read your chat are used under terms that do not allow training on it, and we never sell your chat. You pay for what you read; that is the whole business.

Is mokascore.com the official website?

Yes, and the only one. Moka Score lives at mokascore.com, and its sister app What Brandon Thinks at whatbrandonthinks.com. Before you upload, check the address in your browser.

How it works

Which apps work?

WhatsApp, from an iPhone or an Android phone. iMessage, with our Mac app or a screen recording on your iPhone. Instagram and Messenger, with a screen recording on your phone. LINE, with its own chat export.

How do I export my chat?

Tap Get your score, pick the app, and Moka shows every step with a short tutorial. WhatsApp and LINE export a file in a few taps; for the others you record your screen while you scroll up through the chat.

How long does it take?

About two minutes from choosing your chat to seeing your score. A long screen recording takes a little longer to read.

Which languages does Moka understand?

Moka writes your reading in the language of your chat. The site itself is in English, French, Spanish and German.

Can I ask Moka questions afterwards?

Yes. Once you have read the report, write back: Moka answers with the whole conversation in mind.

Price

Is Moka Score free?

The score is free: the number, the part each of you plays and the six behaviours. The full report is a one-time payment, shown in your currency before you pay.

Is there a subscription?

No. You pay once for a report, and questions to Moka afterwards cost one coffee each, sold in packs that never expire. Nothing renews.

How do I pay?

Through Stripe, with a card or the payment methods common where you live. Your card details never reach us.
